About the puck screen
Reusable SUS304 stainless steel · On tamped coffee
The double layer helps spread incoming water across the top of the coffee. Place the screen on a level, tamped puck with the finest holes facing the coffee.
Distribute and tamp the coffee before placing the screen.
Double layer · 0.8 mm thick
Does your shower screen have a central screw protruding towards the puck? The version with a centre hole provides a cut-out for it. If you don't need that cut-out, choose the version without a centre hole.
Even with the centre hole, the screen must lie flat and remain free from pressure by the brew group.
With or without a centre hole · Both Ø 58.5 mm
Is this right for me?
The right version lies flat on the coffee and fits beneath your shower screen without binding.
The screen is intended for suitable filter baskets in the 58 mm size class. Check the internal diameter at the height where the screen sits. Your portafilter's stated size alone doesn't tell you whether it fits.
The screen adds 0.8 mm on top of your puck. With your dose, enough space must remain to lock the portafilter normally without the shower screen or screw pressing the screen into the coffee.
How it works
Dose your coffee into a clean, dry filter basket. Distribute the grounds and tamp straight. Allow for the space the screen takes on top of the puck.
Place the clean screen flat on the tamped puck. The side with the finest holes faces down. The side with larger openings faces up. Don't tamp again on the screen.
Insert the portafilter and brew according to your recipe. If locking it feels tighter than usual, check the fit and space above the coffee first. Don't lock the portafilter with extra force.
Remove the portafilter once pressure has released. Remove the screen before knocking out the puck. It's hot after brewing, so let it cool first if needed. Rinse both sides and let it dry.

Frequently asked questions
If your brew group has a protruding central screw that needs a cut-out in the screen. Check that the screw fits inside the centre hole and enough space remains above the coffee. The hole is for fit, not a setting for a different flavour.
The 58 mm label describes a size class. Actual internal diameter varies between filter baskets and may narrow towards the base. A 58.5 mm screen therefore doesn't automatically fit every basket labelled 58 mm. It must lie flat on the coffee without binding against the wall.
The side with larger openings faces up. Place the side with the finest holes facing down, directly on the tamped coffee. This applies to both versions.
Rinse both sides with water after each brew and remove remaining coffee residue. Let the screen dry thoroughly before storing. Clean it by hand and don't put it in the dishwasher. Keep maintaining your shower screen and brew group too.
No. Both versions on this page are SUS304 stainless steel without a titanium coating. Here, you only choose between with and without a centre hole.
You receive one puck screen in the version you choose. Photos of both versions help you compare. It's not a set of two.
