About GT Milk Pitcher

See where your milk lands.

You bring the spout towards your espresso and start pouring. You want to see where the milk lands and how much you add. The GT gives you a wide U-shaped spout, an open sightline along the angled top rim and a handle for tilting the jug. The 600 ml capacity offers room to froth milk before pouring.

What does latte art need from your milk?Show less

For latte art, you vary the distance from the coffee and the amount of milk you pour. The GT's shape helps you follow these actions. A pattern also needs glossy, fluid milk with fine bubbles. You create that texture during frothing. Your pouring technique then determines how the pattern forms.

What GT Milk Pitcher adds

Follow the milk from spout to cup.

The U-shaped spout has a wide opening and a long guiding groove that leads milk towards the outlet. The angled top rim lets you keep looking into the jug while tilting. This lets you follow the milk flow as you adjust the amount and direction. Latte art requires finely frothed, pourable milk.

Give the milk room to froth.

The GT has a 600 ml capacity and a wide shape. This gives the milk room to move and increase in volume while steaming. Match the amount to your drink and what your steam wand can froth well. Leave space above the milk. The jug's capacity is not a recommended fill level for frothing.

When does this size suit you?Show less

Look at how much milk you usually prepare. Too little milk in a large jug can make positioning the steam tip difficult. Too much milk leaves little room for foam. Find an amount that lets the milk rotate without overflowing. A smaller jug may be more practical for small amounts.

Keep your grip while tilting.

The diamond-shaped handle supports your fingers while tilting the jug or making small pouring movements. Choose a grip that lets you direct the spout calmly and keeps your wrist relaxed.

What do the spout and guiding groove do?Show less

The groove runs approximately 65 mm along the front of the jug, guiding milk towards the spout. The wide opening gives the milk flow room when you pour more milk. Control the amount by tilting the jug. The width of your pattern also depends on pouring speed, distance from the coffee and milk texture.

Is this right for me?

When you want to froth milk and pour it yourself.

The GT suits a coffee setup where you prepare the milk yourself and pour it from a jug into your cup.

  • You use a steam wand.

Use a steam wand for steaming milk in the jug. Check that you can position the jug underneath and have enough room to adjust its position while frothing.

  • You want to practise latte art.

The GT helps you follow the milk flow. You practise milk texture, pouring speed and distance from the coffee yourself. A heart is a straightforward pattern to start with.

  • You specifically want a 600 ml jug.

If you usually prepare little milk, consider the 400 ml milk jug 5.0 too. If you already have a jug that pours comfortably, consider whether the GT's spout, visibility and handle add something to your workflow.

How it works

From cold milk to your cup.

  1. 01

    Choose your amount of milk.

Pour cold milk into the clean jug. Leave room for frothing and use enough milk to position the steam tip properly. Follow your machine's operating instructions.

  2. 02

    Create fine milk foam.

First incorporate a little air into the milk. Then place the steam tip slightly deeper and keep the milk moving to distribute the bubbles. Stop the steam before removing the jug and clean the steam wand immediately.

  3. 03

    Swirl the milk.

Gently swirl the jug to keep milk and foam mixed. Pour when the milk is glossy and moves as one.

  4. 04

    Pour and follow the flow.

Start with a gentle stream to mix the milk with the espresso. For your pattern, bring the spout closer to the coffee surface and pour more milk. Watch where it lands and adjust your movement accordingly.

What does the angled base do?

The underside has an angled transition at 110°. This shape is intended to bring the remaining milk together when pouring. The rounded triangular base is also part of the design for milk rotation while steaming.
What still depends on your technique?Show less

The steam and the steam tip's position set the milk in motion. How much air you add and how you distribute it help determine the texture. If a thick foam layer remains while mostly thin milk pours from the spout, first look at your frothing technique and mixing just before pouring.

Frequently asked questions

What else would you like to know?

Ask a question about GT Milk Pitcher
Can I froth 600 ml of milk at once?

Leave room while frothing for the milk to increase in volume. 600 ml is the jug's capacity. The amount of cold milk that works comfortably depends on your steam wand, desired foam and preparation.

What is the difference from the 400 ml milk jug 5.0?

The GT offers a 600 ml capacity, wide U-shaped spout and diamond-shaped handle. The 5.0 has a 400 ml capacity and a crocodile spout with two guiding grooves. Choose based on the amount of milk you prepare and the spout and grip you prefer.

Can I pour milk from another frother into the GT?

Yes, you can transfer prepared milk and use the GT solely as a pouring jug. For latte art, the milk must have a fine texture and pour well. Transferring it does not automatically make a stiff foam layer fluid.

How do I clean the GT?

Rinse away milk residue after use and wash the jug with warm water, mild washing-up liquid and a soft sponge. Clean the guiding groove and spout too, then dry the jug. Avoid abrasive cleaners and scouring pads to protect the surface.
