About RDT Spray Bottle
A fine mist of water on whole beans before grinding
Twist the spray head out when you want to spray. Afterwards, twist it back into the housing. This keeps the nozzle covered when the bottle is on your worktop.
Twist-away spray head
The glass reservoir is removable so you can clean it and refill it with fresh drinking water. The slim bottle takes up little space beside your grinder or scale.
Approximately 10 ml · Removable glass reservoir · Approximately 105 × 20 mm
Is this right for me?
RDT suits grinding separate, weighed portions. Treat only the beans for your next brew.
Weigh the dry beans, dampen them lightly and then grind them. You need a separate bowl or dosing cup for this. Do not dampen a supply of beans for later.
Check the instructions for your model. If lightly dampening beans is discouraged or not confirmed, keep the beans dry and first ask what is suitable.
If little coffee sticks to your grinder or cup, this extra step may add little. If you already have a clean sprayer that applies very little water, you can keep using it.
How it works
Fill the reservoir with fresh drinking water. Weigh the dry coffee beans into a clean bowl and place it beside the grinder, away from electrical parts.
Twist the spray head out and aim at the beans. Dampen them as lightly as possible, following your grinder's instructions. Avoid visible drops or water at the bottom of the bowl.
Gently shake the beans or stir them with a clean spoon. This spreads the small amount of water throughout the portion.
Put the lightly dampened beans into the grinder and grind them for your brew. Twist the spray head back into the housing and leave the bowl clean and dry.

Frequently asked questions
There is no fixed rule. The water per spray and portion of beans together determine how much moisture you add. Keep it very light and follow your grinder's instructions. More sprays do not automatically give a better result.
Spray the weighed beans in a separate bowl outside the grinder. Distribute the moisture, then put the beans into the grinder. This directs the mist onto the beans and keeps water away from parts that must stay dry.
With RDT, you lightly dampen whole beans before grinding to limit static. With WDT, you distribute ground coffee in the filter basket using fine needles before tamping. Each technique has its own place in preparation.
Static sticking can also occur when grinding for filter coffee. Suitable use mainly depends on your grinder and the problem you want to reduce. Your brewing method alone does not make a grinder suitable for RDT.
Remove the glass reservoir from the housing and clean it regularly. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and fill with fresh drinking water. Use a soft cloth on the outside and let the parts dry if you will not use the bottle for a while. Do not add fragrances or other substances to the water for your beans.
