About Knock box Pro

6.8-litre collection with a clear worktop.

When brewing several espressos in a row, you want to dispose of used coffee quickly. Knock box Pro gives you a dedicated place to knock out your portafilter. The tall box stands on the floor beside your coffee bar, keeping your worktop available for your grinder, scale and preparation.
How does it fit your workflow?Show less

The deep top surrounds the knock bar and helps keep loose coffee residue inside the box. After knocking out the puck, your cloth hangs within reach on the side. To change the waste bag, remove the top. Collection, wiping and emptying each have a dedicated place in your workflow.

What Knock box Pro adds

More collection space beside your coffee bar.

The 6.8-litre box provides room for used coffee pucks when you brew a lot of espresso. You get more collection capacity than a small countertop box without sacrificing worktop space. This suits a coffee bar or workspace where several people prepare coffee.

Choose a flat, sturdy spot that keeps the box accessible and walkways clear.

Knock out pucks within the collection rim.

The deep, curved opening helps collect the puck and loose coffee residue. The knock bar has a silicone covering that dampens the impact. Point the filter basket downwards and knock against the bar in a controlled way.

Use the knock bar as the point of contact. Do not hit the hard outer rim of the box.

Deep collection rim · Silicone covering · Removable knock bar

How many espresso pucks does it hold?Show less

The capacity does not represent a fixed number of espresso pucks. A puck made with 20 grams of coffee takes up a different amount of space from a smaller dose. Remaining water and how the pucks break apart also affect capacity. Use the extra space as a reserve while working and empty the box at the end of your working day, even if it is not full.

Change the bag through the top.

Remove the top to access the waste bag. Dispose of the used coffee in the bag and fit a new one. The removable knock bar also makes the areas around its fittings accessible for cleaning.

Use a suitable bag and let it hang clear of the knock bar.

Is this right for me?

Do you brew a lot of espresso in one place?

Choose this knock box based on how much coffee you brew and the space around your coffee bar.

  • Your current box fills up often.

You brew many espressos in a row or share the machine with others. The 6.8-litre capacity gives you more room to collect used pucks between emptying.

  • You want to keep your worktop clear.

Your grinder, machine and preparation area already have their places. The floor-standing box moves puck disposal to an accessible spot beside the bar.

  • You have a dedicated place on the floor.

There is room to place the box securely, move the portafilter above it and remove the bag. Also consider cupboard doors and people working behind the bar.

How it works

Knock out, wipe clean and keep brewing.

  1. 01

    Set up the box.

Place the knock box on a flat, sturdy floor. Remove the top, fit a suitable waste bag and replace the top. Check that the knock bar is securely fitted and the opening remains clear.

  2. 02

    Knock out the used puck.

Remove the portafilter from your machine after brewing, once the pressure has dropped. Hold the filter basket facing down above the opening and give it a short, controlled tap against the covered knock bar.

  3. 03

Prepare the basket for your next coffee.

Remove any remaining coffee residue and wipe the filter basket clean and dry with a clean cloth. Use a separate cloth for the basket. Hang it on the hook when it is clean and dry.

  4. 04

    Empty and clean the box.

Remove the top and take out the used bag before it becomes too full or heavy. Clean the knock bar, collection rim and dirty parts of the box. Let them dry and fit a new bag.

A large box needs a regular cleaning routine.

The extra capacity gives you room while working. Empty the box at the end of the working day, and sooner if needed. Also remove coffee residue from the opening and knock bar. A waste bag keeps the inside cleaner but does not replace cleaning.
Which cloth should you use for each task?Show less

Keep the cloth for your filter basket separate from those for the steam wand, worktop and knock box. Use a clean, dry cloth for the basket and replace it when wet or dirty. The hook gives your cloth a dedicated place but does not make a used cloth clean again.

Frequently asked questions

What else would you like to know?

Ask a question about Knock box Pro
Is this a countertop model?

The Knock box Pro is designed to stand on the floor. Place it beside your coffee bar where you can reach it with the portafilter. Choose a spot where you can also remove the top and change the waste bag.

Does it work with my portafilter size?

You do not click the portafilter into a holder. You knock the basket against the bar above the opening, so there is no fitting for one specific diameter. If your portafilter has an unusual shape or delicate parts, follow its usage instructions.

Which waste bags fit?

The MHW-3BOMBER Knock box Pro bags are designed for this floor-standing box. If you use a different bag, check that it sits properly inside, has enough room and leaves the knock bar clear.

Is the knock box quiet when knocking out pucks?

The silicone covering dampens the impact, but knocking out pucks is still audible. The floor, how you knock and contact with other furniture also affect the sound. Place the box securely, clear of other objects.

How do I clean the knock box?

Empty the box and clean it by hand. Remove the top and knock bar according to the product instructions, remove coffee residue and wipe or rinse the dirty parts. Let everything dry before reassembling the box. Wash the cloth separately according to its care label.

Can I use it with a puck screen?

Yes. Keep the puck screen separate from the used coffee so it is not thrown away with the waste bag. Remove and clean it according to the instructions for your machine or puck screen.
